Factory visit 1

January 25th 2016

The first sight of our boat!

We accepted the invitation to visit the factory to see how the build was coming along and were pleasantly surprised with the progress made so far.  The main GRP sections were assembled, windows fitted and most of the woodwork (the quality of which looked beautiful) in the cabin was in place.

As ours is the first 295 to be built, the bathing platform and transom access were in the process of being designed, fingers crossed they make a good job of them.

This will become a mould, from which the platform will be made
The transom access hasn't been cut yet
While we were there we confirmed a few things about the spec (bathroom fittings, positioning of sockets, CD and speakers) and took the opportunity to have a look around this great little boat building factory in Essex.

  1. Looking good! Will be a whilst before we head onto the Thames - but will definitely let you know when we are heading your way so we can get a taste of "Gin Palace" life!!!

    1. Thank you! One day we'll meet up somewhere, we can come up the Grand Union a fair way from the Thames so that might be worth a try.
